As of April 2024 over $29,000 has been distributed

The Sunriver Women’s Club kicked off a new fundraising effort, the Hunger Prevention Fund, to combat food insecurity in south Deschutes County. The campaign kicked off at the May 11, 2023 Board meeting and will continue through March 2024. The intent of the campaign is to raise funds for local food pantries to help offset costs due to increased demand and need and unparalleled food and fuel prices. The three local nonprofits to receive funds are the La Pine Community Kitchen, Sunriver Care & Share Outreach, and St. Vincent de Paul of La Pine. SWRC will gather and distribute funds monthly to these organizations.
