  Grant Applications

A nine-member committee is responsible for setting priorities, soliciting grant applications from local nonprofits and public schools, conducting a thorough evaluation, and making recommendations to the board of directors. Decisions are based on a combination of data, best practices, and knowledge of our community needs. The grants are made possible through the fundraising of the Sunriver Women’s Club and the generous support of our members and community-minded individuals and businesses.

  • Grant funds are restricted to serving residents of south Deschutes County.
  • Grant services must address at least one of the SRWC’s five giving priorities: Child Safety, Education or Youth Development, Health/Mental Health, Hunger Prevention or Safe Housing.
  • A public school or agency may apply for one grant per year unless determined elsewise based on SRWC targeted giving campaigns. During 2026, agencies addressing Hunger Prevention may apply for and receive a grant award in both the spring and fall grant cycles. Alternatively, one emergency grant may be awarded in lieu of either a spring or fall grant.
  • Capital campaigns, endowment funds or sponsorships are not eligible.

  • Grant funds may not be passed through to another organization except when an organization is functioning as the fiscal agent for a qualified project.
  • Agencies previously receiving grant funds are required to submit a Final Grant Report prior to application for funding in future years. Reports inform the Philanthropy Committee of progress toward the goals stated in prior grant application(s) and inform the committee of any concerns in meeting grant deliverables as stated in the award agreement. Hunger Prevention applicants may be required to submit an interim report which will be emailed by the Philanthropy Committee Director.
