The Badlands Rock Trail Winter Fun Hike

  • The Badlands Rock Trail

Winter Fun hike, Thursday, February 17 Badlands Rock Trail via the Ancient Juniper Trail and back on the main trail (Lollipop Loop)

6.2 miles, round trip.

Elevation gain/loss: 75 feet.  However, the trail is sandy in spots and it can be tough on knees/hips… Think walking on the beach--hiking poles may help.

The Badlands Rock Trail is a wide, heavily used trail that traverses the Oregon Badlands Wilderness to a large rock outcrop with 360-degree views. Badlands Rock Trailhead is ~18 miles southeast of Bend on Hwy 20 (~35 minutes from Sunriver).

Bring water and a lunch/snack to have at the Rock.

We will meet at the Catholic Church at 9:30 a.m.  Thursday Feb 17 to form carpools, or you may drive alone if you prefer.   If carpooling you must show either a vaccination card or a negative test per SRWC policy. Please note that those carpooling must wear masks regardless of vaccination status.

If you would like to join us, please reply to either Liz LeCuyer or Kathy Ketchum.  Once we have you on the list to attend, we will follow up with an email to confirm.
