Afternoon Delight Trail Ride Saturday, October 28

Afternoon Delight is a fun ride that connects to the Phil’s Trails system. This is an intermediate ride. You must be comfortable with ascents, descents and small rock gardens.

We will meet at the COTA Trailhead kiosk just past the Cardinal Landing Bridge in Sunriver. If you are driving to the ride, park at the lot on the canoe take-out road by the start of the Sun-Lava trail and ride your bike to the meeting place. The arrive-by time is 9:30 a.m. and the roll-out time is 9:45 a.m.  Mechelle Griffin will lead this ride, maximum 12 riders.

A helmet is required. Bring a snack, a lunch and electrolyte- enhanced water. We will ride to Forest Road 41 and have a snack before continuing on the Afternoon Delight Trail to its end. We will then ride forest service roads to the Slough Meadow Day Use Area where we will have lunch.

We’ll finish the Deschutes River Trail and catch the Sun-Lava trail back to Sunriver. The total distance is 11 miles with a 596 foot elevation change.  We will end the ride at approximately 1 pm. Copy and paste the link below to see a map and elevation details.
