FULL MOON SNOWSHOE (WORM MOON) to Virginia Meissner Shelter
The Worm Moon is a time for reflection, renewal, and connecting with nature.
It's the last full moon of winter in the northern hemisphere and occurs in March
Date: FRIDAY, MARCH 14
Time: 6 pm-9 pm
Info: Meet at Village Bar and Grill parking lot at 6 pm ready to leave by 6:15 pm. Bring $3 for the driver. Each car needs a Sno-Park permit. We will carpool to Meissner Sno-Park then snowshoe to the shelter to enjoy the full moon then hike back down to the parking lot.The total distance is 3.35 miles.
Participant Limit: 12 (including leaders)
Please bring:
Snowshoes with appropriate footwear that works with your snowshoes (please try them on and know how to adjust them prior to tomorrow evening.)
Poles are optional, but nice for uphill and downhill portions
HEADLAMP or at least a flashlight (with working batteries!)
Appropriate clothing – (layers would be good) and don’t forget a warm hat and gloves
A drink and snacks while we enjoy viewing of the moon while at the shelter
A Backpack to carry drink, food, and layers .
