MidSoles Hike:  WYCHUS CREEK AND CANYON TO UPPER CHUSH FALLS

When: Monday, June 30  8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Meet at 8:00 a.m. at the SCF Church parking lot at 18139 Cottonwood Rd to carpool or meet at 9:45 a.m. at the trailhead. Bring $5 for the driver if carpooling.

Description:

5.9 miles, 853 ft of elevation gain/loss. Average hike time is 2.5 hrs.  This hike is considered a moderately challenging route but comes with possible wildflowers. It also comes with a Mtn view before descending into the Canyon. As you hike into the canyon you will most likely feel the temperature become warmer as you pass young Ponderosa trees and manzanita bushes. The trail ducks past a series of cliff overhangs where the creek has undercut ancient lava flows from the volcanoes of the Three Sisters.  Best hiked March thru Oct

When considering signing up for this hike, please review the specifics (e.g. distance, elevation gain, trail surface - gravel, rocky, soft sand etc.) to determine if this trail meets your fitness level.

Gear: Water, snacks, $ for going out to lunch afterwards (optional), hiking poles (optional), sturdy hiking shoes, layered clothing, personal first aid supplies.

May require a parking permit that can be purchased at the parking lot.
