Paulina Lakeshore Loop Hike

When:  August 13. Start 8:30am.  End 11:15am

Info: Join in for this traditional Hearty Soles hike around the perimeter of Paulina Lake. We will carpool from the Country Store. Be there in time to depart at 8 am sharp. This will get us on the trail by 8:30am and off before the sun gets too strong.

Description:

This is a 7.4 mile, mostly flat hike with a few uphill areas for a total of about 426’ of elevation gain. You will be rewarded with beautiful views of the lake and caldera. The trail is mostly dirt with a few rocky areas.

Drivers will need a NW Forest Pass or an America the Beautiful Pass to park. There are bathrooms at the trailhead.

When considering signing up for this hike please review the specifics (e.g. distance, elevation gain, trail surface – gravel, rocky, soft sand, etc.) to determine if the trail meets your needs.

Gear: Sunscreen, bug spray, hat, personal first aid supplies, water and snacks/drinks of choice. Hiking poles might be useful, it’s up to you. Sturdy hiking shoes. Paulina Lake is at 6,380’ so it will be a bit chillier in the morning than it will be in Sunriver. But once the sun does it’s thing it can get quite warm.

Co-Leaders: Kathie Pratschner (206) 459-0156 and Susie Silva Strommer (503) 970-1453

Number of Participants: 12 including the 2 leaders

When registering, you will need to agree to the waiver: waiver-release of liability 0124.pdf
