#4. Mt. Scott

When: July 30.   Meet at  6:30   at  fire station on Huntington (in between Spring Rd and South Century). (Drive may be longer than hike if we have to go to south entrance)

Description:

Distance: 4.3 Miles-out and back

Elevation 1276 feet elevation gain

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging

4.3-mile out-and-back trail near Crater Lake, Oregon. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 2 h 35 min to complete. This is a very popular area for hiking and running, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. The best times to visit this trail are June through October. This trail is a challenging ascent of Mt. Scott, the highest point in Crater Lake National Park. You'll have amazing views of the lake below and the surrounding landscape along the way. From the top, you are rewarded with breathtaking, panoramic views. The trail is fairly exposed, so bring plenty of water and sun protection.

When considering signing up for this hike, please review the specifics (e.g. distance, elevation gain, trail surface - gravel, rocky, soft sand etc.) to determine if this trail meets your fitness level.


Gear:Sunscreen, bug spray, hat, water, snacks, lunch, $ for carpooling or food event afterwards, hiking poles, sturdy hiking shoes, layered clothing.

On the SRWC website, go to the calendar and click on the event.  Click "Already Registered."  Click "Cancel.” On the APP, go to "My tickets."  Click CANCEL below the time/date.

If you are cancelling within a day of the event (i.e. Wild Apricot won’t let you cancel online), contact the leader directly.
