Description:

SALT CREEK AND DIAMOND CREEK FALLS TRAIL LOOP- near Oakridge, Oregon about a 1 hr.15 min drive. The Salt Creek Falls and Diamond Creek Falls Loop is a short 5.4-mile hike with 1,056' elevation gain, but a spectacular trail that offers views of some of the most amazing waterfalls in the area. Salt Creek Falls is Oregon's second tallest waterfall (286 ft.) and quite a sight to see! What's great about this hike, is that you can choose to hike a 3.75 mile loop or you can add 2.6 miles to the hike (making it a 6.4 mile hike) by taking an out and back trail to see Fall Creek Falls. Generally considered a moderately challenging route. This hike takes an average of 2 hr 39 min to complete. Best hiked June thru Oct.

When considering signing up for this hike, please review the specifics (e.g. distance, elevation gain, trail surface - gravel, rocky, soft sand etc.) to determine if this trail meets your fitness level.

Gear:  Water, snacks, $ for going out to lunch afterwards (optional), hiking poles (optional), sturdy hiking shoes, layered clothing, personal first aid supplies, insect repellent.  May require a parking permit that can be purchased at the parking lot.
