Description:

TAM-A-LAU TRAIL, COVE PALISADES STATE PARK-

This trail with plateau loop is about 6.5 miles with an elevation gain/loss of 800 ft. and takes about 2 hr 45 min to complete. After walking back up the road from the parking lot to the trailhead. The trail starts out slightly wooded with juniper, pine and sagebrush. After a flat stretch, we’ll begin an ascent on a series of switchbacks, cresting the plateau at about 1.5 miles and begin the loop along the edge of rim rock with beautiful views in every direction, then return back down the switchbacks. Good to hike all year long but could get hot in summer.

When considering signing up for this hike, please review the specifics (e.g. distance, elevation gain, trail surface - gravel, rocky, soft sand etc.) to determine if this trail meets your fitness level.
