Hearty Soles Six Summit Challenge #5. Twin Peaks

When: August 20, 2025.   Meet at  7:30   at  Fire station on Huntington (in between Spring Rd and South Century). Drive is about 1 hour and 30 minutes.  Please bring $5 for driver.

Difficulty: Hard

Length: 6.6mi. Out and Back Elevation Gain: 1,630 ft.

Look for the trailhead on the right before the turn to Shadow Bay. Small parking area off the road. The route to the top of the Twins - a two peaked volcano - is a rather straight single track which climbs through fairly dense fir and hemlock forest, gradually for the first two-and-a-half miles before getting steeper for the last mile. Views start at the first false summit of the North Twin (about 3.2 miles in), but the higher South Twin offers the best panoramic view of Odell Lake, the Diamond Peak, the Middle and South Sisters, and many other Cascade ranges and lakes.

 Snack Stop Possibilities:

O'Dell Lodge

Big foot Tavern
