Mt. Scott - Crater Lake National Park
When: Thursday, July 24, 2024 8:15 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.
Meet at parking lot in front of Village Bar & Grill to assemble rides & ready to go at 8:30 am. $8 for carpooling & drivers will need America the Beautiful Card to enter the Park free.
Info: This hike is a 6 Summits Challenge hike that gives you another summit capture if you are working on the reward of a 2026 bandana.
Description of Hike:
4.5 miles out & back on maintained trail. Elevation gain is 1,272 feet classed by All Trails as moderate & highest point in Crater Lake National Park. The last 500 ft is switch backs due to steeper accent to the top. Amazing views of the lake below & surrounding landscape as you assent. From the TOP you are rewarded with breathtaking, panoramic views of the Park.
What to Bring: layered clothing & jacket, hat, hiking poles, gloves for early morning part of hike, sunscreen, water & hydration drink, lunch, snacks. $ for drivers & money for a snack stop at Tipsy Pig in Gilchrest on return.
