Kayak/Paddle from Sunriver Marina to Sunriver Canoe Takeout

When: Thursday, June 18, 2026, 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM

with optional lunch/beverage at Rio Sol afterwards

Info : Meet at Homeowners Parking Lot at the Sunriver Marina (the driveway just before the parking lot for Rio Sol and the marina store) at 10am.  Jane or Judy will be at the gate to let you in if you live outside of Sunriver proper and/or do not have an SROA member Preference card to open the gate. After unloading kayaks and inflating SUPs, we will begin our paddle/float at 10:20am. We will paddle/float to the Sunriver Canoe Takeout (approximately 2-2.5 hours), then take the marina shuttle back to the homeowners lot. (We will secure shuttle bracelets for all registrants in advance.) After returning our kayaks/SUPs to our vehicles, we will walk to Rio Sol for lunch or beverages. We anticipate getting to Rio Sol about 1:00pm.

Description: 2 - 2.5 hour float on the Deschutes River in Sunriver, followed by lunch or beverages at Rio Sol.

Join us for a relaxed float/paddle on the Deschutes River, from the Sunriver marina (homeowner's lot) to the Sunriver Canoe Takeout, past Cardinal Landing Bridge, riverfront properties, and scenic views of the surrounding natural landscape. Absend winds, this is a very easy float. Easy to intermediate with winds. We will end our float at the Sunriver Canoe Takeout, before Benham Falls.  The Sunriver Marina Shuttle will transport us and our kayaks/SUPs back to the homeowner's lot.  After returning our gear to our vehicles, we will walk to Rio Sol for lunch or beverages, or you can head home.

Gear: Required PFD (life preserver), whistle, and Invasive Species Permit.

Suggested: sunscreen, bug repellant, hat, water, snacks/lunch, $ for

food/drinks afterwards, long sleeve shirt, dry bag, towel, water shoes,

change of clothes if desired.
