Six Summit Challenge

When: Tuesday, September 22, 8 am - 4 pm

Info: 

Leave from Fire Station on S Century Drive at 0800. Bring $5 for driver. 

Drive is just over an hour from the Fire Station. Bring NW Forest Pass.

Directions to Maiden Lake Trailhead: 

Head west on S Century/FS-42, 

Turn L on Cascade Lakes Hwy, 

Turn R on FS-4660,

Turn R on FS-4664

Turn R Maiden Lake Trailhead Rd/FS-100 to trailhead.

Please note this specific trailhead, as there are multiple options to Maiden Peak.

Description: 

Features: Mostly sandy/smooth gradual, continuous uphill through old growth forest before a steep, brief scramble to the peak, where you will be rewarded with stunning almost 360 degree views of Diamond Peak, The Sisters, and Mt Jefferson, as well as multiple large Cascade lakes.

Hike Miles: @10 miles out-and-back*, 2900 elevation gain (All Trails says 9.1, my GPS measured 10)

Hike Pace:  2: moderate and challenging

When considering signing up for this event, please review the specifics (e.g. distance, elevation gain, trail surface - gravel, rocky, soft sand etc.) to determine if this event matches your fitness level.

Gear:

Sunscreen, bug spray, hat, water, snacks, lunch, $ for carpooling, hiking poles, sturdy hiking shoes, layered clothing, personal first aid supplies, NW Forest Pass.

On the SRWC website, go to calendar and click on the event.  Click "Already Registered."  Click "Cancel.” On the APP, go to "My tickets."  Click CANCEL below the time/date.

If you are cancelling after registration closes on WI, Wild Apricot won’t let you cancel online so contact the leader directly.
